Statue of Liberty

About the Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is one of the most beloved symbols of the USA. This colossal neoclassical sculpture represents the Roman Liberty goddess holding a torch over her head to enlighten the World. The statue was designed by the sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and its metal framework was built by Gustave Eiffel. It is one of the most visited monuments in the US and travelers will have the opportunity to pay a visit to it by ferry on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, where the statue is standing on. Visitors will be able to go up to the pedestal or even the crown (by anticipated reservation). Do not worry if you do not have so much time in New York because you will also be able to spot her from Battery Park in Lower Manhattan.
